I’m Marcellus Louroza, or simply "Marcel", founder of Brasilienergie – a Brazilian and European citizen (Portuguese passport) who has spent his entire career operating at the intersection of mobile technology, energy and international business.

Today I live in Vienna, Austria, and work between Europe and Brazil, building bridges between European energy innovation and the Brazilian power market.

Over the last 10 years, I’ve studied, designed and executed sustainable energy projects in Austria, one of the most advanced and fully liberalised power markets in the world – where every citizen can choose their power supplier and even trade energy with other consumers.

I also hold a Master’s degree in Sustainable Energy Systems at FH Oberösterreich - University of Applied Sciences Upper Austria, with hands-on experience in retail energy, HEMS/HEPs, storage, DSM, dynamic tariffs and grid flexibility.

Before founding Brasilienergie, I spent more than 20 years in the global telecom and technology industry, working for companies such as Xerox, Hewlett-Packard, Nokia, Samsung and Fronius International. In these roles I led complex, multi-country deals, managed technology and smartphone portfolios, and sold mobile data networks and services to major operators.

I have lived and worked in several countries across Europe, USA and Latin America, including a period as Country Manager in Buenos Aires, Argentina, which gave me deep, practical experience in multicultural environments, negotiation styles and decision-making cultures.

This combination of telecoms, energy and international business means I am used to dealing with highly regulated markets, complex value chains and C-level stakeholders. I understand how to translate technology into clear commercial logic, and how to structure partnerships where incentives are aligned for all players.

Even while based in Europe, I maintain a strong professional network in Brazil, including board members and C-level executives at major telcos, utilities and energy companies. I know how a fully liberalised European energy market behaves – and I know how things really move in Brazilian boardrooms and regulatory fronts.

I bring the perspective of someone who has lived the European energy transition from the inside, managed complex telecom businesses across countries, and navigated Brazilian and Latin American markets for decades – and I now put all of that to work through Brasilienergie.

How I create value for you

  • For Brazilian Utilities and Energy Traders:

I help you skip the European learning curve and move faster in the Brazilian Power Sector opening. Together we design and operate smart energy offers – HEMS, PV + storage, DSM, dynamic tariffs – that fit Brazilian regulation, customers and grid reality, with clear KPIs and shared upside.

  • For European technology companies and investors:

I translate your propositions into Brazil-ready models - who to partner with, how to structure deals, how to price, how to navigate ANEEL (Brazilian Energy Agency), and how decisions are really made inside Brazilian Utilities. You get both market access and operational execution, not just introductions.

  • For both sides

I act as a neutral orchestrator: I don’t own platforms or hardware. What I have is deep knowledge and hands-on experience in doing business in the telecommunications and sustainable energy sectors. I help you choose the right technologies, assemble the right partners, and turn concepts into measurable revenue and impact on the Brazilian grid.

In short:

I turn my experience in liberalised European markets and real-world Brazilian business into concrete, de-risked programs for clients who want to move early on the opening of the Brazilian Power Market and stay ahead of the market.
